Montgomery County is about to welcome a new master-planned community with deep roots in Texas history. Unlike many large-scale developments that break ground across the Houston area, this one carries a legacy: it’s being built on 2,000 acres of family land that has been cared for and cherished by the Randall family for three generations.
From Family Land to Community Vision
For years, the Randall family used this land for fishing, hunting, and gathering outdoors. Now, they’re opening its doors to a broader vision — a place where families can plant roots and thrive together. Their upcoming community, called Homeplace, is designed to reflect the same values that guided their stewardship of the land: respect for nature, strong community ties, and a sense of belonging.
To bring their vision to life, the Randalls partnered with Rochester Development, a firm based in The Woodlands known for thoughtful community planning. The goal is simple but powerful: to create a neighborhood where connection matters and where it’s easy to get to know your neighbors. As the Randall family put it, they want to “bring back the block party.”
Where Homeplace Will Take Shape
The first phase of Homeplace will cover 446 acres, located near Lake Creek High School and Creekside Elementary in Montgomery ISD, with access from FM 2854. This early phase sets the stage for what will eventually become a vibrant, multi-phase community. Groundbreaking is expected in early 2026, with the first homesites projected to be delivered to builders in 2027.
Designed for Lifestyle and Legacy
What makes Homeplace stand out is its careful balance of growth and preservation. The community’s design takes advantage of Montgomery County’s rolling hills, wooded areas, and natural waterways. Residents will have access to trails for biking and hiking, creating opportunities to enjoy the land in its natural beauty.
Beyond the amenities, the heart of Homeplace is in its design for connection — fostering spaces where neighbors can gather, families can grow, and traditions can be built for generations to come.
What It Means for Montgomery County
The arrival of Homeplace is a sign of Montgomery’s continued growth as one of Northwest Houston’s most desirable areas. Its proximity to Lake Conroe, The Woodlands, and key highways makes it an appealing choice for families who want the balance of space, community, and accessibility.
As the community develops, it will also bring new opportunities for buyers, builders, and local businesses. With more homesites coming online in the next few years, Homeplace could play a role in easing some of the housing demand across the region while setting a new standard for thoughtful community planning.
Looking Ahead
With groundbreaking just months away, Homeplace is poised to be one of Montgomery County’s most exciting projects in years. It’s more than a development — it’s a community born from history, shaped by nature, and designed for the future.
